Should i buy an electric guitar, or can I switch later from a classical?

i bought a guitar way before i knew anything about it and now im stuck with a classical. I want to play an electric guitar, not classical music. Right now i JUST started lessons. so my question is, should i continue my lessons on my classical guitar (i wont play in a classical fashion) and just buy and electrical later? cause i dnt wanna spend money on an electrical NOW. will i be able to switch?

Yes, you can switch later when you have the funds to buy an electric guitar and amp. Right now you will be learning all the basics anyways. Have fun!
