IS there a way to fix the kick pedal on the Guitar Hero drums?

Okay, I have the Guitar Hero drums for Band Hero, and currently, I am the only one who can play them. So, when the drums fell over the other day and the kick pedal wasn’t working, I was devestated. What could be the problem and how can it be fixed? My mom said she is NOT replacing the drums.

1. Cheaper option; may not work – Take apart the pedal, the wiring may be broken.
2. Expensive option; 100% success; won’t break again – Buy a “Destroyer” pedal from eBay, which is a Guitar Hero/Rock Band/Band Hero drum pedal made from metal, and is much more accurate and efficient.
