How can I learn to play the piano?

Do I need to get enrolled in classes? Because, I can take a piano class in college, but, can I do it any other way? Online? Or is learning online not effective at all? I want to learn how to read sheet music. Anything! I know nothing, so anything would help! I’m 15, just in case you’re wondering. Thanks.

A private tutor is preferable, but you can still get some quality lessons from online course material.
